Just over a month ago Laurence and I received an unexpected offer from a man named Ian. We'd been cc'd in on an email exchange between Ian and a lady named Lily. Ian had written to Lily because she runs an organisation called Smallholding Ireland and he was looking for some young people with dreams of smallholding who would be interested making use of his property for free. Back-track to last September when Laurence had fortuitously announced that "It's good to put stuff out there" and suggested that we write to Smallholding Ireland to ask their advice. So we had written to Lily telling her of our hope of land and small-holding dream. She had very nicely written back saying that she would keep an ear out and let us know if she heard of anything that would be suitable for us - and that's exactly what she did! It was a completely mad offer and we had to accept it immediately. So, to cut a long story very short - we packed our bags, left the meditation centre that we'd been volunteering at in England and made our way (in)directly back to West Cork.
After a month spent unexpectedly WWOOFing we moved in.
Check out the video tour that I made.
